Brewery Bavik, located in Bavikhove, served as a pilot for this new legally required excise module.
Regarding the how duty suspended deliveries for all excise goods are accounted for, the EMCS (Excise Management and Control System) serves as an electronical portal between EU breweries (and other excise related industries) and the local government.

A local brewery, Bavik sells their own brand of beers in addition to soft drinks, soda’s, wines and beers from other breweries. This diversity of products was an ideal test case because of the specific management of soft drinks and wines next to the beers.

NORRIQ was able to complete several complex test flows including partial shipments and sales orders with all product categories mixed. All Microsoft operating systems were tested: XP, Vista and Windows 7. Brewery Bavik is very happy with the outcome of the test and wants to move to the EMCS production environment as of 13 December.

As a result of the successful outcome with Brewery Bavik, five other Belgian Drink-IT customers have decided to implement NORRIQ’s EMCS module.
